What helps Dry Scalp?

Ok... Dry Scalp is not contagious or because of bad hygiene. It is just embarrassing.

Dry scalp is just what it sounds like. It is Dry floating flakes that can be in patches.

It can cause burning and make the scalp sensitive.

We need to find out what is causing the dry scalp because if you are itching, you are causing inflammation and when you cause inflammation you can cause hair loss. Dry scalp also makes the hair dry and dry hair causes breakage.

Causes of Dry Scalp:

  • Diet ( Potato chips & Pastries ) All refined carbs or if you have an allergy to a certain food.

  • Stress ( That annoying boss at work or those upcoming exams )

  • Products ( Certain hair sprays or volumizers with large alcohol content )

  • Shampoo's ( If they are full of Sulfates )

  • Dry Shampoos ( Leaving on dry shampoo for too long and not shampooing all the way out )

Things that will help:

  • Stay Hydrated ( This will help our scalp and our face and body from being dry )

  • Sulfate Free Shampoos ( Detergents in shampoos will take all the natural oil off your scalp )

  • Non Comedogenic Conditioners ( These are conditioners made for the scalp. They are cooling & help people with sensitive skin as well )

  • Scalp Messages ( Using the pads of your fingertips will help stimulate blood flow, nutrients & oxygen to the scalp ) Plus it feels sooooo goood!

  • Oils ( Jojoba oils are amazing for hydrating the skin and are water soluble. So they are easy to wash out of the hair. You can leave on overnight or apply for at least 20 min and shampoo out )

  • Aloe Vera is great for soothing & taking down inflammation on those areas that you have already been scratching.

You don't have to be embarrassed by those flakes anymore.

If you feel like your flakes are more yellow, waxy & oily than you probably have dandruff not dry scalp.

Then you need to go read.
